but God’s love is universal and needs no translation.

We invite you to work and pray with us in giving glory to God the Holy Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

*Note on Partaking of Holy Communion at evening Liturgy: Please keep in mind and practice the rule of abstaining from any drink or food from noon until Communion is offered when participating in Holy Communion at evening Liturgy. Those who are ill or on medications are not required to observe this rule strictly. However, even they should abstain at least an hour or two before the beginning of Liturgy.

Godparents Sunday - February 5th: The role of godparent is extremely important for us in the Orthodox Church. Together with parents, godparents are responsible for the spiritual upbringing and well-being of the children they sponsor at baptism. Godparents are expected to take an active, ongoing interest in the life of the child for whom they recited the Creed and confessed faith in Christ as our Lord and Savior. They are expected to provide an example of commitment to Christ and the Church that will inspire their godchildren to imitate. We encourage all our children to invite their godparents to Church this Sunday, to participate with them in the Liturgy and, if prepared, to partake of Holy Communion together. If a godparent is not available, the godchild should light a candle for him/her and remember to pray for the godparent (if a godparent is deceased, the godchild should be encouraged to light a candle and pray as well). We look forward to welcoming all our children and godparents this Sunday!

The Sacrament of Confession: Fr. George is available on request for Confession. Please contact him by phone (703-314-6421) or e-mail (frgeorgeandrew@gmail.com).

"Our Company of Friends"
PAREA (our company of friends) got together for the first time! Twelve of our parishioners joined PAREA for a great lunch! We ate and enjoyed each other's company, exchanged stories and laughs, and everyone had a fun, relaxing and wonderful time! We are all looking forward to next month's PAREA! Please know that our PAREA luncheon will always be on the 1st Tuesday of every month at a restaurant of our choice. All of the members of our Community are invited to participate in and enjoy a regular gathering for fellowship, conversation and fun! Let's create some new memories and offer encouragement and support to each other in times of need. Please note that our next luncheon will be on TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 7th, at 11:30 am at Delia's (128 Edds Lane, Sterling, VA 20165 - 703-444-1661). Please give Marina a call so we can get an idea of how many people will be joining us! We would love to see you there! Marina Blair (571-969-9234). View Invitation
