Building to Serve The
Greek Orthodox Parish of Loudoun County, Virginia serves as a beacon, carrier, and witness of the message of Christ through
divine worship, preaching, teaching, and living of the Orthodox Christian Faith. During our young parish life, our ministries
have conducted philanthropic activities such as visiting the sick and elderly, deeding the poor, and teaching our youth about
our Great Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We are successfully, with the grace, help and guidance of God, spreading our
rich, beautiful Orthodox Christian and Holy Apostolic Faith of nearly 2000 years into previously uncharted areas and serving
both present and future generations within our community.
Our Prayerful Vision
In February 2007,
our parish entered into a lease contract to convert a multi-use warehouse facility into a place of worship and education.
This, of course, is a temporary solution to a much longer-term endeavor. From the moment we entered our temporary facility,
it was clear that our growing parish would soon outgrow our new facility.
It's important that our community continue
to grow and flourish and become the example that Christ intended us to be. Therefore, it is imperative that we move
forward quickly with plans to secure land and construct a Byzantine-style Church and Community Center. By doing so,
our church will serve as a witness to other Christians and to those who search for Christ She will bring people to learn
of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and will be a vessel in which our children will be taught about their Holy Apostolic
Orthodox Christian Faith. We do all of this to give due worship, praise, and thanksgiving to God and to bring others
closer to Him.
Meeting the Challenge
The construction of a Greek Orthodox Church in Loudoun County is both historic and unique. Your contributions
and support will help build the first and only Greek Orthodox Church in the 200 year old county. With its unique Byzantine-style,
your contributions will help build a truly amazing structure that spans 2000 years of architecture.
To meet this
great challenge that is ahead of us, we have begun our Capital Fundraising Campaign. The total project cost is estimated
at $12 million, including land acquisition, basic development, engineering, and construction costs. Project completion
will occur over three phases:
Phase I - Land Acquisition and Design Phase II - Construct Community and Temporary
